Tips for Keeping Bagels Fresh

Bagels & Bites tips for keeping bagels fresh and delightful............

To keep bagels overnight:
Leave bagels in a plastic bag at room temperature. Never leave the plastic bag of bagels in the direct sunlight (or a hot car) because they will get soggy. A paper bag would be better in such an environment.

To keep bagels 2 to 3 days:
Refrigerate in a plastic bag or a sealed container.
To warm bagels use one of 3 ways:
  1. Sprinkle bagels with water and wrap in foil or put in a dampened paper bag, then place in the oven at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. Dip bagels in water, shake off, then heat uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes.
  3. Heat bagels straight from the refrigerator or freezer in their plastic bag in the microwave oven. Set the oven on medium and warm for 30 seconds, longer if frozen. Bear in mind the longer you heat it the "softer" it will get. If you heat it too long it will lose its outer shell.
Never put hot or warm bagels into a plastic bag, they will get soggy.

Never crowd warm bagels or they will get crushed.
